Lab Support Engineering is at the heart of a worldwide lab operations team providing 24x7 lab access, service and solutions support in multiple locations. Independent and flexible, team members are always ready to adapt to the changing daily priorities. They make an impact in all kinds of ways – from installing and maintaining servers and storage equipment within the fast-paced lab computing environment, through to providing top-level technical expertise and support to engineering departmental users. What’s more, they work with engineering teams to create hardware configuration test plans in support of software development.
Setup, configure, provision & maintain VMware ESX server and vSphere
Setup, configure, provision & maintain VMware Cloud infrastructure
Recreate customer scenarios/setups in lab environment on need basis
Install & configure test setups as required by the engineering team
Setup and configure SAN fabric switches, zoning, monitoring & backup
Setup, configure & maintain enterprise servers (Dell, HP, IBM and SUN)
Install and Update O/S patches & security patches, when required
Participating in discussions regarding the setups required for Product development
Troubleshooting on Host to storage connectivity
- Proficiency in designing/implementing VMware Virtualization technologies
Proficiency in building and maintaining high-availability environments
Proficiency in working in a high-availability clustered environment
Proficiency in configuring VMware HA and DRS
Proficiency in Hardware, Software and Operating System environments
Proficiency in troubleshooting & analytical skills
Good verbal and written communication
Ability to work with team
- Proficiency in Fiber channel switching
Proficiency in SAN configuration, Maintenance and monitor
Strong System Administration skills on Windows
